Can you spot the recovery? (graph)

The NBER dates the beginning of the recession to December of 2007 and its end to June of 2009.  But, as can be seen in this graph of the employment to population ratio, employment (as a proportion of the population) has remained flat since late 2009.  The economy has simply not grown at the rates required to bring back levels of employment common to 2006 or 2007.
